This past Friday, Calhoun Unit 40 Elementary, Jr. High and High School students, along with St. Norbert’s students and faculty all paid $1 each to wear a hat at school to show their support for former student and Warrior, Connor Gilman.
The schools are fundraising for Gilman because on Jan. 23 he had a seizure and was diagnosed with a slow growing brain tumor. He has since had the tumor removed and will begin radiation followed by chemotherapy.
Gilman and his family said they are thankful for all of the support and prayers that the Calhoun community has sent their way. Gilman is currently attending Northern Illinois University College of Law.
