Jerseyville’s Got Pets
By Carissa Sitki
Jerseyville showed off their fashionable pets on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 18, the Jerseyville Public Library (JPL). The 2023 Jerseyville’s Got Pets Pet Fashion Show Contest had 28 entries as well as a group of animal-loving spectators who enjoyed the show. The event gathered funds for a good cause, as well. There was a bucket filled with donations taken up for the Riverbend Humane Society No-Kill Animal Shelter. The winner of the contest was a dog named, Sir Jersey County Snickerdoodle, owned by Bob and Marilyn Woolsey. Snickerdoodle received a pet cake from Espresso Yourself Bakery in Jerseyville and the Woolseys received a gift certificate. All other entrants received a homemade pet treat from Espresso Yourself.

The Jerseyville’s Got Pets Pet Fashion Show wouldn’t have been complete without a runway for those pets to strut their stuff. Spectators sit to the left and the judges sit to the right.
