The third annual Great Mushroom Hunt is returning to Raging Rivers Water Parks in Grafton on Saturday, April 15, with mushroom hunting and more from 10 a.m to 3 p.m.
Kids actives, food trucks, eagle watching and vendors will be up and ready at 10 a.m. with the hunt taking place from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and winners announced at 3 p.m.
This year’s event is already set to be larger than years past with hundreds of people registered for the free hunt.
“We’ve seen about a 300 percent increase in attendees this year,” Chelsea Nelson with Raging Rivers said. “Right now we’re sitting 20 vendors, two food trucks, a dj and still looking for more vendors. We’re going to have prizes for different types of mushrooms found and how many mushrooms, and a find the gnome event for kids who might not want to hunt for mushrooms.”
With temperature and weather playing a large role in the morel season, Nelson said they’ve been checking online to see what we can expect at this year’s hunt.
“Here in the office we’ve been tracking the weather and other local places to hunt, to see where they’re popping up, and it looks like were trending to be right on track for a good hunt,” Nelson said.
In addition to the mushrooms, vendors and kids actives, Raging Rivers will be set up with season passes and taking applications as they prepare to open for the summer season on Saturday, May 20.
