The Jersey County Arts Council and students from Jersey CUSD 100 dropped their yarn bomb installation at City Center Park next to Germania Brew Haus in Jerseyville.
The installation at the park features a ton of spring-themed pieces like flowers and butterflies created by several veteran crocheters and students from the community.
For the last several weekends, experienced and first-time crocheters have been gathering at Germania to work on the detailed pieces for the yarn bomb, and JCHS design students and JCMS student council dedicated time to making giant bottle cap flowers for the park.
“We truly have a wealth of creative folks in this community,” the Arts Council said. “Many thanks to Erica Heaitzig (and her students) and Beth McGlasson for ramrodding this project.”
The Art Council expressed their gratitude to Germania Brew Haus for hosting the crochet sessions and said to watch for updates on future classes after several requests to continue the Sunday sessions.
