Jerseyville is welcoming a new local business to its long list of newcomers– Great Rivers Eye Care opened for business on Monday, March 20.
Owner Amanda Gerson grew up in Calhoun County and currently lives in Carlinville. After Gerson finished college, she began working in private practice before coming back to the region.
“I always wanted to come back to the area,” said Amanda Gerson. “The tri-county area is home.”
Partnered with Dr. Matthew Jones, Gerson followed her dream of owning her own business.
“The goal was to be a business owner,” said Gerson. “The goal has been ownership, and I’ve been working hard the last couple of years to open up here.”
Great Rivers Eye Care offers several unique services, including treating emergency cases, 24-hour after-hours service, as well as treating all types of eye conditions. Great Rivers Eye Care is one of the very few 24-hour eye centers in the region.
“The community has been very supportive,” said Gerson. “Very impressed with how people support local businesses.”
Gerson plans on moving back to the area from Carlinville next month and continuing her work on the business.
“I’m hoping to be able to support those who support you,” said Gerson.
Gerson is excited to add to her business in the coming future. More information can be found at greatriverseyecare.com or by calling 618-494-4030.
