The Jersey Community Hospital Foundation held their annual Larry Bear Golf Tournament on Friday, May 5, at Lockhaven Golf Club.
Each year the funds raised from the tournament go to scholarships for local students in the medical field, with this year’s event exceeding their fundraising goal of $30,000.
Charity Roth, JCH Foundation Director, said this year’s turnout was fantastic.
“We have a full field with 36 teams,” Roth said Friday. “We have amazing sponsors. We actually had a waiting list this year.”
Since 1992 the JCH Medical Education Scholarship and Loan Program has awarded over 160 local students pursuing medical careers with more than $347,000 in scholarships.
“An amazing day for an amazing program,” Roth added.
