District One Foundation for Education recently presented the Joan Pohlman Annual Teacher Appreciation Award to two Carrollton teachers: Jim Caldwell, PE and Driver’s Ed instructor at Carrollton High School and Brianna Camerer, first grade teacher at Carrollton Elementary School.
Phil Pohlman established this memorial award in 2019 through DOF in honor of his mother, Joan Pohlman. Joan, who served on the Carrollton School Board, was a strong supporter of teachers and was often seen at school and sporting events. Many family members taught/coached in Carrollton and neighboring districts and many still do.
DOF, which funds scholarships to qualifying seniors in the Carrollton School District, is proud to honor these teachers through Mr. Pohlman’s Memorial Award.
