The Christmas tree is up at Dolan Park and work is underway for the Downtown Country Christmas Festival.
The tree is up at Dolan Park and preparations have started for the Downtown Country Christmas Festival on Saturday, Nov. 25.
This year’s festival theme is “Building Memories to Last a Lifetime” and with the event just a month away festival organizers are looking for volunteers to help create those lasting memories.
Downtown Country Christmas Festival President Michael Ward said the festival board is in need of volunteers to come help setup lights and decorations each Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
This Saturday, Oct. 21, they’ll be setting up at Dolan Park with the help of the Jersey Community Middle School Blue Crew who helped last year as well.
A little help goes a long way with setting up for Downtown Country Christmas. Last year Ward said with the help of the Blue Crew they finished in minutes what typically takes hours.
The festival board is also looking for volunteers to help with kids games and events the day of the festival, and they’re also currently accepting nominations for the 2023 Kringle Award.
The board has also expressed the need for committee members who are willing to help keep the annual event thriving, after Ward expressed interest in stepping down as board president last year.
Anyone interested in volunteering their time and getting in their Kringle Award nomination can visit www.downtowncountrychristmas.com or their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/DCCFINC
