The public is invited to join the Jerseyville Christian Science Church for its annual one-hour Thanksgiving Day service. It will be held on Thanksgiving morning, November 23, 2023, at 10:00am at the Church, 1118 S. Liberty Street, Jerseyville.
This service includes inspirational readings from the Holy Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, singing hymns, and sharing gratitude.
During a time of challenges and divisions in the world, our National Day of Thanksgiving encourages the community to come together and share gratitude for God’s goodness in our lives. The Bible tells us, “O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good.” (Psalms 136)
This Thanksgiving Day service offers a peaceful and uplifting atmosphere to worship God, to pray, and feel God’s loving care for all. This special service and all Christian Science services are open to everyone. Children are welcome too. Our children’s room is available for infants and toddlers.
The Christian Science Church has been part of the Jerseyville community for over 100 years. Weekly Sunday services and Sunday School for children are at 10:00am. The Church also has weekly Wednesday evening services where people share gratitude for God’s goodness and healing power in our lives. Everyone is welcome at all services and care for young children is provided.
