The Calhoun Lady Warriors secured a win for themselves against The Gillespie Miners last Tuesday, Nov. 21.
Originally scheduled to play Gateway Legacy, the Warriors instead played Gillespie due to a lack of players at Gateway Legacy and finished the evening with a 63-49 win over the Miners.
Calhoun took a small lead to start off the game putting 11 points on the board in the first quarter while allowing Gillespie only two. The Warriors snagged a 26-14 lead going into the half and carried it throughout despite a strong second half from the Miners who put up 35 points in the second half.
Kate Zipprich lead the Warriors with 21 points and 11 rebounds, Audrey Gilman had 19 points and five steals, Sadie Kiel scored 10 points, Gracie Klaas scored seven points and five assists and Bralyn Lammy, Kiera Sievers and Layla Johnson each scored two points.
