The sub-zero temperatures that started over the weekend have rolled into this week, and ice on the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers have caused ferry closures throughout the area. IDOT announced that the Brussels and Kampsville ferries will be suspended with a reopen date anticipated for Friday, Feb. 9, and the Calhoun Ferry Company said on Sunday that the Golden Eagle Ferry and Winfield Ferry would be closed until further notice due to the ice.
