The Jerseyville City Council approved a motion to accept a proposal from TextMyGov text alert system at the Tuesday, April 30, council meeting.
The text alert system allows the residents to text questions and report issues directly to the city’s TextMyGov number.
TextMyGov says the alert system can provide 24-hour service with answers to questions and various responses that provide information and links to residents. The system is intended to save time, reduce phone calls, streamline work, track citizen requests, boost city website traffic and provide a more modern form of communication to residents.
After tabling the item at a previous meeting the council had time to review the proposal with TextMyGov and unanimously approved the motion to accept the proposal.
