The Carrollton Lady Hawks captured the Western Illinois Valley Conference (WIVC) with a perfect 9-0 record in the conference on Wednesday night, May 1, with a 9-4 win against Pleasant Hill in a game played in Greenfield.
The win pushed the Lady Hawks to a 26-1 record. Lauren Flowers was the winning pitcher pitching 7 innings, allowing only 5 hits while striking out 7. At the plate, she went 2 for 4 with a homerun and 2 RBI’s.
Hannah Uhles was on fire going 3 for 4 at the plate with two of those being home runs. She scored 3 runs and had 3 RBI’s.
Vanna Holmes also went 3 for 4, scoring a run and earning an RBI. Brooklyn Eilerman was 2 for 3 and scored a run and Megan Camden was 1 for 3 at the plate with a homerun and scoring 3 RBI’s.
The next day, May 2, the Lady Hawks traveled to Carlinville where they suffered only the second loss of the season to the Lady Cavaliers who outscored the Lady Hawks 4-2.
Hannah Uhles was the losing pitcher pitching 6 innings allowing 5 hits and 3 earned runs with 2 strikeouts. At the plate, she was 2 for 3 scoring a run.
Daci Walls scored the only 2 runs for the Lady Hawks on her 1 of 2 trips to the plate.
The loss ended the Lady Hawks regular season with a record of 26-2. Monday they travel to Jacksonville for the start of the WIVC Conference Tournament.
