Alayna Schmidt and Maci Peteron both had top three finishes to lead the West Central eighth grade girls at the IESA State Track and Field meet last weekend at Peoria.
Schmidt finished second in the discus with a distance of 91 feet, 7 inches. Phylicity Leonard from Onarga Iroquois West finished first at 93-3.
Peterson finished third in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.65. Evy Smith from Havana won the event in 15.78.
Paisley Sturtevant finished eighth in the 100 hurdles in 17.55
The 4×100 relay finished 23rd in 56.21. Gabby Femmer, Sturtevant, Hayden Yearian and Peterson ran in the relay.
Jada Lawson and Evynn Gregory each had top seven finishes for the West Central seventh girls’ track and field team.
Lawson finished fourth in the discus at 81-6.
Gregory finished seventh in the 100 hurdles in 17.65-.
The 4×100 relay finished 17th in 57.19. Mae Rueter, Lawson, Milli Maynard and Gregory ran in the relay.
