More than 100 cars, trucks and motorcycles gathered at Uncle Al’s over the weekend for the 4th Annual BMR Polish and Detail Auto Show.
Over 100 cars, trucks, and motorcycles cruised into Uncle Al’s in Jerseyville for the 4th Annual BMR Polish and Detail Auto Show.
Each year Brandon Robertson of BMR Polish and Detail gathers car enthusiasts for a full day of fun and music all while raising funds to benefit a different local family in need.
Robertson said the first show was kind of a pop-up event at Tri-County Bowl as a way to help raise funds for a family whose daughter beat leukemia. He said the first year had a pretty good turnout with a more common collection of cars and encouraged him to do it the following year.
After making the move to Uncle Al’s for the second year the event continued to grow.
“It’s definitely progressed every year,” he said. “First year was good. Second year had less car count but a good party. Third year car count and party was coming back up. This year, here we are and we don’t have any room.”

Each year the BMR Polish and Detail Auto Show helps to raise funds for a local family in need. Proceeds from this year’s event went to the family of Dana Smith.
As it’s grown, the annual event has turned into a whole day of live music, food from T&S Smokehouse food truck, a pin-up contest, burnouts, and shutting the bar down if they can.
Not only has the event itself grown over the years, but the support from the community has increased each year as well.
Amy Smith, owner of Riverbank Marketing and Robertson’s mother, said the support from sponsors and local businesses has been tremendous with 75 small businesses stepping up to help.
Smith said in previous years people would simply stop by BMR to make donations, but with the addition of sponsorships the event was able to double fundraising efforts and include a silent auction.
“So already today we’ve doubled what we did last year due to sponsorships,” Smith said.
Robertson said it feels great to see the event and community support grow each year for the different families. Guests returning each year and cars coming in from all over the surrounding communities makes it even better.
“That makes it even better,” he said. “It feels good.”
Throughout the years the Annual BMR Polish and Detail Auto Show has raised funds for the Kadell family, the family of Shawn Sullivan, the family of Danika Alderfer, and this year funds went towards the family of Dana Smith.
Robertson thanked all the sponsors, car owners, donors, guests, volunteers and everyone who made the 4th Annual BMR Polish and Detail Auto Show a success and is excited to see how next year will be.
“My banner started out my very first year with three sponsors,” he said. “This year I had to get a bigger banner to fit them all. It’s cool we’re all coming together. The fifth year will be nuts.”
