Conner Turner finished second in the long jump to lead West Central at the Rushville-Industry Class 1A Track and Field Sectional last week.The top two individuals, and those that met qualifying standards advanced to this weekend’s state championships.Turner finished second with a distance of 21-feet, 2½ inches.
Gabe Howard finished fifth in the discus at 120-9.
Zac Howard finished ninth in the 800 in 2:16.17. Carson Clevenger finished ninth in the long jump 18-6 ½
Blayne Sidwell finished ninth in the 200 in 23.91.
Liam Melanson finished 11th in the 100 in 11.82. Carson Gregory finished 12th in the 400 in 56.43., and London Adams finished 12th in the shot put at 36-10½.
Peyton Dobson finished 13th in the 3200 in 14:07.47, and Gavin Thomas finished 13th in the West Central finished seventh in the 4×100 relay in 45.61, and 11th in the 4×400 relay in 4:01.44Melanson, Sidwell, Thomas and Turner ran in the 4×100 relay. Gregory, Thomas, Zac Howard and Sidwell ran in the 4×400 relay.
