All of the Redbirds who qualified to go to the IESA 1A Track meet in Peoria on May 10-11 pose before the start of the event. Several individual and team medals were brought home by the Redbirds including a couple first place medals by Hadley Lake and Chloe McAdams in discus. For more specific information, see accompanying article.
The St. John’s Redbirds Junior High Track Team took home some medals at the IESA 1A State Track meet in Peoria at the EastSide Centre on May 10 and 11 in a number of different events.
The eighth grade made a great show at the event.
Chloe McAdams took home first place in discus and eighth place in shot put while Andrew Price placed 14th in the 1600m and 11th in the high jump. Mallory Vandersand placed 10th in the long jump.
For the 7th grade, Hadley Lake placed first in discus and seventh in shot put, while Hannah Hoaglin placed sixth in high jump.
The seventh grade 4×200 Relay placed eighth. It consisted of Rylee York, Lexi Ross, Hannah Hoaglin and Hadley Lake. Alternates were Brooklyn Steinacher and Ada Albrecht.
Coach for St. John’s was Kara Albrecht.
Carrollton Grade School also had some athletes compete at State.
Addyson Simmons placed 12th in the 100m and 22nd in the 200m and the 4×100 Relay team placed 14th. The team consisted of Collins Newton, Becca Heck, Holly Simmons and Addyson Simmons.
