Emma McCormick and Kylie Muntz were crowned Miss Jersey County and Little Miss Jersey County on Wednesday, July 10, at the 2024 Jersey County Fair Queen Pageant.
Queen Emma said it was a dream come true to be crowned as Miss Jersey County at the 2024 fair.
“It’s a dream come true,” she said. “After watching my older sister do this I knew I wanted to compete whether or not I won. You gain so much, whether that’s confidence or best friends. It was an experience I will never forget.”
With a busy year ahead, Queen Emma said she’s looking forward to representing the county during her reign as Miss Jersey County, spending her time with Queen Kylie and going to the State Pageant.
“I’m looking forward to spending time with my little miss and going around and representing Jersey County to my best ability,” Queen Emma said. “Going around to different fairs, riding rides with her, eating lots of fair food, competing at the State Pageant and hopefully bringing something back for my county.”
Despite the rain and some of the hot weather throughout the week, Queen Emma said the community was still making the most of fair week and creating lasting memories.
“It’s been great,” Queen Emma said. “Although the parade got canceled, I just had to keep telling myself everything happens for a reason, so there was a reason it was canceled but I mean we’re able to have fun now so we’re just soaking it up while it lasts. I feel like everyone has been super happy just to be out walking around and making memories.”
Queen Kylie said it felt good to be crowned Little Miss Jersey County and has enjoyed the fair rides and fair food the most. She said she recommends anyone visiting the fair make the time for the rides and food, especially her favorites, the big slide and the hotdogs and cotton candy.
Pageant Director Tiffany Phillips said they had a great turnout this year with 16 Little Miss contestants and seven Miss contestants, and had a full grandstand during the pageant. Phillips also recognized the work of the 2023 queens.
“They were phenomenal,” she said. “They went to over 70 events throughout the year, which is huge. Kyndal did a great job. She read a lot to classrooms in the school district and promoted ag that way. They did a really good job promoting the fair and being our representatives.”
First Runner Up for 2024 Miss Jersey County was MacKenzie Jones, Second Runner Up was Ashley Smith, People’s Choice was Ashley Smith and Miss Congeniality was Hannah Rose. First Runner Up for the 2024 Little Miss Jersey County was Peyton Moore, Second Runner was Mia Dickerman, Third Runner Up was Soarinna Sievers, Fourth Runner Up was Rylee Schaake, People’s Choice was Mia Dickerman and Top 50/50 sales was Parker Vanausdoll.
