Liberty needed three games but came away with a 25-14, 24-26, 25-22 win over West Central in volleyball Oct. 22 in Bluffs.
Brylee Lawson had a kill, and the Cougars led 13-10 in game three. McKenzie Jones had kill to give West Central an 18-17 lead.
The game was tied at before Liberty was able to take a 22-20 lead.
Braylee Littig and Marissa Galloway had a block, and Littig had a service ace to tie the game at 22. Liberty was able to get the next three points to get the win.
Reagan Brown had a service ace to start game one, but Liberty answered with six straight points to take the lead. West Central never got closer than four for the rest of the game.
The second game was tied at 4. Liberty committed a service error, Lawson had a kill, and Hallee Lawson had a service ace as West Central took a 9-4 lead.
West Central led 19-14, but Liberty rallied to take a 23-21 lead. The Cougars had a block, and Brown had a service ace to tie the game. Liberty took a 24-23 lead before West Central rallied for the win.
Sofie Grubb had kill that tied the game. Brylee Lawson finished the game with two kills as the Cougars forced a third game.
