Students from the Jersey County CEO Program will be holding a launch for their class project “Munch and Read” this Saturday, Nov. 23, at First Assembly of God Church at 500 Cross Avenue in Jerseyville.
This semester all 14 students from the CEO class worked together to create a new children’s book “The Adventures of Carl the Corn.”
The book focuses on Carl and his adventure through Jersey County visiting different local businesses. All the students helped write the book while Aiden Kendall took on the responsibility of handing the art and hand-drawing
Carl the Corn. Former CEO student Michaela Eilerman also helped with graphic editing.
During Saturday’s launch party the students will be selling copies of “The Adventures of Carl the Corn” and small bags of gourmet popcorn from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a $2 entry fee per family for the launch party for those interested in the games, bounce house and raffle baskets that will be available. The cost for the book is $12 and the bag of popcorn is $5.
Jersey County CEO will also have books available for sale during Downtown Country Christmas on Saturday, Nov. 30.
More information on the launch party and “The Adventures of Carl the Corn” can be found online at facebook.com/jerseycountyceo.
