Santa stopped the Jerseyville Walmart to pick up a donation of 50 turkeys which will be handed out to local families for the holidays.
The holidays are approaching and that means Santa Claus will soon be making a stop in Jersey County.
Santa and his helpers have already been preparing for the holiday season and with the help of Jerseyville Walmart 50 turkeys have been donated to Santa and Got Faith? Ministries.
Steve Pegram with Got Faith? said they’re very thankful for the donation as they continue to fulfill their mission to feed and inspire the hungry. Thanks to the generous turkey donation, Pegram said Got Faith? will be handing out all 50 to help ensure families in the community have a full plate and belly during the holidays.
Santa already has plenty of events lined up in the coming weeks. He’ll be at the St. Louis Union Station Polar Express, Eckert’s Country Store and Farms, and will be arriving in Jerseyville by helicopter for the annual Downtown Country Christmas Festival.
Although this is a busy time of year for Got Faith?, Pegram and Santa, Pegram said it’s all worth it to help the community. Everything Pegram does is in effort to assist Got Faith? in their mission to help the community.
While everything Pegram does goes back to Got Faith? he said the generosity and support from other members of the community make all the difference. Students from Marquette Catholic High School recently stopped by the Got Faith? office to help with some preparations for the holidays. CNB Bank also recently made a donation to help Got Faith? in their mission to feed and inspire the hungry. The Gibson Girls also stopped by to help prepare and decorate some of the 20 Christmas trees in Got Faith?

The Gibson Girls as well as students from Marquette Catholic High School stopped by Got Faith? to help decorate Christmas trees.
“I’ve been doing this for over 30 years now and have never taken a dime,” Pegram said noting that everything Jersey County’s Santa collects goes straight back to Got Faith? and the community. “Every dime goes to Got Faith? You’re supposed to go out and try to make a difference in this world. That’s what Got Faith? is all about, trying to help other people and make a difference in their lives.”
As Got Faith? has continued to grow and reach more people in need in the community Pegram said it feels great to not only help but see others reach out and join in helping all year.
From the annual car show in the summer to breakfasts with Santa in the winter, every bit of what Got Faith? does goes straight back to their efforts to help those in their time of need.
“We’re just growing over here. It’s grown so much and I just love it,” Pegram said. “Just trying to make a difference, that’s all we’re trying to do.”
