Cara Sue Crain | 75 | Manchester

Cara Sue Crain, 75, of Manchester, passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025 at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital. She was born April 11, 1949 in White Hall the daughter of James and Vera Moss Fraser. She married Rob Crain on July 26, 1969 in White Hall and he survives.She is also survived by two sons, Chris (Robin) Crain of Springfield, MO and Kyle (Cara) Crain of Winchester; four grandchildren, Jordan, Kendall, Eli and Eryn Crain and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Larry Fraser and Bill Fraser (surviving wife, Patrice of Carlinville) and one sister, Joyce Baker (surviving husband, Ed of White Hall).
Cara Sue knew from a young age that the only thing she wanted to do was to be a teacher. She taught for many years, first at the Manchester School where she taught 1st and 2nd grade and later at the Winchester Elementary School where she taught 4th and 5th grade. She loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s events and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Coonrod Funeral Home in Winchester with burial at Manchester Cemetery.
The family will meet friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Winchester Educational Foundation. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.
