Anthony Hance pitched three scoreless innings, and West Central scored two runs in the ninth inning to beat Pawnee 7-5 in baseball Mar. 31 at Pawnee.
The Cougars led 5-0 before Pawnee scored five runs in the sixth inning.
Dalton walked to lead off the ninth inning and reached second on a sacrifice by Cameron Sievers. Carson Brown was intentionally walked, and Landyn Woods reached on an error to load the bases.
Caden Meyer singled to drive in two runs, and West Central led 7-5.
Hance got two strikeouts and a ground out in the bottom of the ninth inning.
West Central scored three runs in the third inning and two in the fourth and led 5-0.
Hayden Johns singled in third, and Sievers doubled. Brown hit a three run home run, and West Central 3-0.
SIevers walked in the fifth inning, and Brown followed with his second home run of the game.
Pawnee scored five runs in the sixth as the first two batters were hit by pitches. They also had three singled and a walk in the inning and tied the game.
Pawnee had the winning run in the eighth with two outs but the next batters grounded out to end the threat.
Brown went 2-for-3 with two home runs, scored three runs and drove in five runs to lead the Cougars. Sievers went 1-for-1, with three sacrifices and a walked, and scored two runs.
Meyer went 1-for-4 and drove in two runs. Johns went 1-for-4 and scored one run. Hutton reached base on three walked and scored one run.
Hance allowed just one hit over the final three innings. He struck out three batters and walked one.
Hutton pitched the first six innings and allowed five earned runs. He gave up five hits, walked two batters and struck out five.
