The sounds of summer are returning to Jersey County with the return of the annual summer concert series this week.
Grafton’s free weekly Music in the Park concert series returns tonight with Starlifter, the Scott Air Force Rock Band, at the Grove Memorial Park from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
This year, Music in the Park has 14 nights of music planned this year with bands scheduled every Thursday night this summer from May 29 to August 28 at Grove Memorial Park starting at 7 p.m.
This year will feature Scott Latham and Karl Holmes on June 5, HOOKie on June 12, Outlaw Opry on June 19, The OWLS on June 26, Gibson Girls on July 3, Jake Weber and the Lonesome Drifters on July 10, Tanglefoot on July 17, Midwest Avenue on July 24, Money shot on July 31, Back in the Saddle on August 7, The Big Little Big Band on August 14, CrossRoad Band on August 21 and Porch Cafe on August 28.
Jerseyville’s Rock the Block returns this Friday as Mattie Schell and Jackson Stokes take the stage on their Midwest Express Tour.
Schell will be returning home to Jerseyville to take the stage for the first Rock the Block of the season at City Center Park from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
From Jerseyville, Mattie Schell and Jackson Stokes will be heading to Missouri and the rest of the Midwest playing songs from Schell’s new album Everything Means Nothing from Compass Records.
