Jersey County Treasurer Rebecca Strang announced that property tax bills were mailed out Monday, June 23, with the first installment due on July 25, 2025, the second installment due September 5, 2025, and mobile home bills due September 5, 2025.
Strong said in a press release that late fees will be imposed after the set dates and credit fees will apply.
“We ask that if you have not received your bill by the 2nd week of July, please give our office a call, 618-498-5571 and we would be more than happy to fax, mail, or email you a copy. You can always stop by and pick a copy up in the office. Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8-4,” the release from the Treasurer’s office states. “There are many options available to make your payments. They can be made online by visiting www.jerseycountytax.com, by mail, in person at the Treasurer’s office or you can always stop by the local bank branches, Royal Banks, CNB (Jerseyville & Brighton), Jersey State Bank (Jerseyville & Grafton), Jerseyville Banking Center and Farmer’s State Bank. Payments can only be made at the banks through due dates. Mobile Home tax will only be accepted at the Treasurer’s office. Also keep in mind that our office is the tax collector and we do not determine the amount that is billed. Your property tax bills are determined by the assessment, equalization factor and the tax rate.”
