Uncle Sam stuck around after the Fourth of July weekend to take part in the 2025 Jersey County Fair. Although this year’s parade had a brief delay for weather, the rain cleared out in time for Uncle Sam to join residents along State Street while riding on the Jersey County Republican parade float. Long time precinct committee members Ron Short dressed as Uncle Sam and Carol Moore dressed as the Statue of Liberty while joining County Board members Jarrod Hayes, Mark Wagner, Marty Ward and Jared Mills in the parade.
