Lindle Dale Offenbacker | 79 | American Falls, ID

Lindle Dale Offenbacker, 79, of American Falls, ID, was born Sept. 23, 1945 and passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, following a mercifully brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
He is survived by two nieces (Margie Evans of Sugar Creek, MO and Marcia Oxford of Elkridge, MD); a nephew, (Lowell Offenbacker, Jr. of Odessa, MO); a grandnephew, (Christopher Holt of Independence, MO); a grandniece, (Kayla Allen of Independence, MO); and a great-grandniece, (Eva Holt of Independence, MO).
He is predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Katherine Offenbacker of Pittsfield, IL; and his brother, Lowell Offenbacker, Sr. of Sugar Creek, MO.
Lindle Offenbacker was a 1964 graduate of Pittsfield High School in Pittsfield, IL, where he was active in band, sports, and Future Farmers of America. He also served in the US Army Reserves from 1964-1970 before he went on to earn multiple degrees from the University of Idaho. Mr. Offenbacker had been a past president of the Idaho State Rifle & Pistol Association and a long-term member of the Idaho chapter of The Wildlife Society and Ecological Society of America. He retired from the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service after 33 years as a soil conservationist. His hobbies included sharp-shooting competitions, traveling, hunting, fishing, reading, continuing to collect flora and fauna samples, and smelting his own ammunition. He valued education and self-sufficiency, was well-accomplished and will be sorely missed.
Visitation was held at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Pittsfield, IL at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025, with the funeral to be held at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Pittsfield West Cemetery.
