Hull of a Race, a nonprofit, a 501c3 volunteer organization, will hold their 19th annual race on Saturday morning, Aug. 16, at 8 a.m.
Three events are featured: A competitive 5K and 10k run with age brackets for everyone, a competitive Kids’ Run, and a Fun Walk, Roll for those who do not run. In fact, running is prohibited in this particular event. We welcome all who would like to walk, roll, or be pushed in a wheelchair or stroller for this portion. Racers are provided with chipped bibs by Elvish Consulting, Alan Avery, providing professional timing. Racers often achieve their best personal times with a flat, paved course through the cornfields and countryside at the edge of Hull. Top finisher ribbons, medals, and trophies will be awarded.
New this year is a Parkinson’ s Heroes tent for Parkinson’s patients and their families. 100% of proceeds are donated to the American Parkinson Disease Association, St. Louis division for Parkinson’s Disease Research.
This annual event is held in conjunction with the Hull Picnic, celebrating its 98th year.
Registration and more information at hullofarace.com including historical and founders’ information and photos and video of prior years’ events. T-shirts are guaranteed to racers who register for the race by August 1.

I was around 58 when my thumb started giving me problems. As time passed, I had other symptoms: hand tremors, restless sleep, muscle weakness, cognitive decline, voice spasms, and a stiff, achy right arm and ankle. At 60 I was diagnosed with PARKINSON’S DISEASE. I was on Carbidopa and Pramipexole for two years; they helped a lot but not for long. As the disease progressed, my symptoms worsened. With my neurologist’s guidance, I started on PD-5 treatment from U.H.C. (Uinehealth Centre). The treatment worked very effectively; my severe symptoms, especially the tremors, simply vanished. I feel better now than I have ever felt, and I can feel my strength again. Visit Uinehealth centre. ne t. My neurologist was very open when looking at alternative medicines and procedures; this PD-5 treatment is a breakthrough.
