Area athletes participate in Special Olympics

Special Olympic athletes from around the area traveled to Bloomington recently to compete in Illinois Special Olympics at ISU. In Standing Long Jump Betsy Curless received a sixth place ribbon. In softball Michelle Jefferoson received a first place gold medal and fifth place ribbon in running long jump. Patty Powell received a third place bronze medal in softball. Other results in softball were Ron Lair first place gold medal and Kelci Pinney seventh place ribbon. In the 100 race walk David Lara received a fifth place ribbon and Kayla McGee received a participation ribbon.
