Make plans to attend the Craft/Vendor Show this Saturday, Nov. 29, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Senior Center in Pittsfield (220 W. Adams St.). Vendor fees and raffle proceeds will benefit the Griggsville City Cemetery. Contact Rachel Baker or Kathy Buchanan with any questions.
Bring your kids to the New Salem Town Hall for a meet-and-greet with Santa Dec. 6. Kids activities will begin at 4 p.m.. There will be a lighted Christmas parade at 6 p.m. with lineup at 5:30 p.m. Prizes will also be given away, but you must be present to win. Contact Brenda Baxter at 217-982-2043 for parade information.
At the GP Eagle basketball game Dec. 6, the Golden Eagle Honor Guard will have cinnamon rolls and coffee or hot chocolate for sale for five dollars. This fundraiser will begin at 9am with the ballgame starting at 10 a.m. against Jacksonville Our Saviors. Sounds like a sweet morning in Perry!
The Perry Association of Community Enrichment (PACE) will hold its 2025 Christmas Light Parade Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. Plan to sit on the north and south sides of the square, west of the bandstand, in Perry, and enjoy a variety of parade entries decked out in their festive best! If you are interested in participating, show up that evening by 5:30 p.m. in front of the North Pike Fire Department, and bring a notecard with your entry’s information. GP’s PTO will host the 2025 Holiday Lights Tour Dec. 12 and 13 from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Residents and businesses in the GP school district are encouraged to participate. For more information and to register your home or business, go to the GP PTO Facebook page and click on the link. Prizes will be awarded!
Plans are underway for the Eleventh Annual Breakfast with St. Nick at the North Pike Firehouse in Perry! This event will take place Dec. 20 from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Children will have a chance to tell St. Nick their Christmas wishes, make crafts, eat breakfast, play game and so much more. The North Pole Gift Shop will be open again this year. Items, each under five dollars, will be available for children to purchase as Christmas gifts for loved ones and a volunteer will be available to help them shop and wrap their purchases. Admission to the breakfast is a non-perishable food item to be donated to the community Christmas baskets. This event is sponsored by the Ladies of North Pike in cooperation with PACE.
