Keep each other in prayer. Pray for God’s guidance in each other’s lives. Thank God for everything He has done for us and continues to do for us.

Did some checking and in case you are going to be alone or it’s just you and your significant other and you are thinking about going out on Christmas Day to eat Christmas lunch, here are the restaurants that I found going to be open that day:
Saints’ Avenue at 3913 McMasters Avenue in Hannibal. Their hours are 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.
Kim’s Place Cafe at 211 East Court Street in Jacksonville. Their hours are 11:00 am – 2:00, and will accept reservations at 1-217-245-6037.
SHOWS THAT ARE SCHEDULED IN OUR AREA:
Wednesday, December 31st, NEW YEAR’S EVE — The Big River Band will be at the Courtyard Cafe in Pittsfield with the show from 6:00 – 9:00.
Friday, January 9th — The Buggs’ Family Opry, with special guest Marc Bubert, will be in Pearl with the show starting at 7:00.
Saturday, January 10th — The Big River Band will be back at the Courtyard Cafe with the show starting at 6:00.
Friday, January 23rd — The Buggs’ Family Opry, with special guest Simon Webb, will be in Pearl with the show starting at 7:00.
Saturday, January 24th — The Big River Band will be at the Pike County Senior Center in Pittsfield with the show starting at 6:30.
Here’s where I will stress, if the weather gets bad and/or iffy, either listen to 97.5 or 102 on the radio, or check on Facebook and look on either BIG RIVER BAND or Polly Bugg or Jamie Niffen or myself Wyvetta Davis, or give someone a call, including me at the number above to make sure the Shows will be happening.
And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judae`a, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:4-7

The evening of Wednesday, December 17, The Big River Band plus Todd Evans played at the Griggsville Estates. They all enjoyed doing this, and I can tell you all this since I was there to listen, they did a wonderful job. And it was so very nice for the band to be told by clients and management alike that they were very appreciated and hope they come back. Big River Band says “Thank You for having them”.
The wise men traveled many miles by following a star, which they called it His star, and they were wanting to find a Baby that is the King of the Jews so they could worship Him. They made a terrible mistake in asking king Herod about this Baby Jesus’ whereabouts. Herod was a wicked, jealous king and didn’t want any king to replace him. So he connivingly decided to ask these wise men, once they found Jesus, to let him know where He was at so he could, supposedly, go and worship Him himself. Once the wise men found Jesus, Joseph, and Mary, lots of things happened. God warned the wise men in a dream to definitely not tell Herod ANYTHING, so they went a totally different way back home. Also the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and warned him to not go back home with Mary and Jesus, but to go to Egypt to avoid Herod completely. And finally, the worst thing happened. Herod was insanely livid that the wise men did not come back to tell him the whereabouts of Jesus, and he ordered that ALL the children from two years old and under that were in Bethlehem and in all the coasts thereof, be killed. Can you imagine the poor parents of these children, and can you also imagine the soldiers that had to all this killing to follow the king’s orders? A terribly, mentally unstable king caused all this unthinkable chaos. Chaos does and will happen in all our lives, but our God, in all His unimaginable wisdom, doesn’t want us to live like this. As He guided the wise men and Joseph, He will gladly guide each of us, if we ask.
