Happy New Year! Congratulations to Joe & Sina Ringhausen who celebrated 70 years of marriage on December 31. They celebrated with a luncheon at the Illinois River Dock hosted by their children and family and surrounded by friends. Joe and Sina are wonderful people and definitely a treasure to be looked up to. I am glad to call them my friends.
Congratulations Greg & Jodi Becker who welcomed a new grandson on December 30 Dean William Wright made his arrival. Proud parents are Jordan and Kristina (Becker) Wright of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He joins big brother Rex Eugene who will be two January 13. Paternal grandparent is Beth Wright of Collinsville.
Also welcoming a new arrival on December 30 Reed and Morgan (Stein) Rusten Miss Quincy Beth Rusten. Quincy joins big sister Georgia and is the granddaughter of Mike and Nikki Black, Danny Stein and Jackie, and Hannah Rusten and the late Pat Rusten. Great grandparents are Rach and Nancy Lippencott.
The Calhoun Lady Warriors hosted Trivia night at Straight Home Saturday evening. It was a great time for many to show off their knowledge of a lot of random things.
The Kampsville Legion Queen of Hearts resumes January 9 so get those tickets bought.
Friday night the Calhoun Fair Board will host a state sendoff for Queen Abby on Friday, Jan. 9, at Straight Home from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Come out and wish Abby J good luck as she competes at the Miss Illinois county fair Queen pageant in Springfield.
Sunday afternoon, come out and enjoy wings and tacos at Straight Home from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. honoring the retirement of Sheriff Bill and dispatcher Tammy Betts.
