West Central scored 16 runs in the first inning and beat South Fulton 23-0 in baseball April 8 at Winchester.
The first 10 batters reached base in the first innings, and the Cougars had 21 at bats in the inning. They had seven hits in the inning and received six walks. Three players were hit by pitches, and two others reached base on errors.
Anthony Hance and Thrice Kirkpatrick each had two hits, scored two runs and drove in two runs in the inning. Preston Adams drove in three runs in the inning. Tucker Arnold drove in two runs.
Kirkpatrick went 3-for-4 with a double, scored two runs and drove in four runs in the game. Hance and Arnold each went 3-for-4, scored two runs and drove in three runs.
Jack Little went 1-for-2, scored three runs and drove in three runs. Blaine Vortman went 1-for-3, scored three runs and drove in one run. Adams went 1-for-1, scored two runs and drove in three runs.
Daxton Littig scored three runs and drove in one run. Ben Bangert and Camden Wingler each scored three runs.
Kirkpatrick pitched the first two innings and got the win. He struck out five batters and did not allow a hit. Little pitched one inning and allowed one hit and struck out three batters. Hayden Johns pitched one inning and allowed one hit and struck out three batters.
Arnold had a double and drove in two runs, but Carrollton beat West Central 6-2, April 6, at Winchester.
Adams and Hance each scored runs in the game.
Hayden Johns drove in seven runs to lead West Central to a 27-7 win over East Alton-Wood River in baseball May 10 at Wood River.
Johns doubled and drove in two runs in the first inning. He also singled twice and drove in two runs both times and drew a bases loaded walk.
Johns went 4-for-4 with a double and scored five runs in the game for West Central (5-6).
Anthony Hance went 3-for-4 with two doubles, scored five runs and drove in two runs. Camden Wingler went 3-for-3 with a double, scored one run and drove in four runs.
Tucker Arnold went 3-for-3, scored four runs and drove in two runs. Blaine Vortman went 3-for-5 with a double, scored one run and drove in three runs.
Thrice Kirkpatrick went 2-for-3, scored five runs and drove in three runs. Ben Bangert went 2-for-3, scored three runs and drove in two runs.
Preston Adams drove in two runs. Jack Little scored one run and drove in one.
Thrice Kirkpatrick pitched three innings and allowed one run and picked up the win. He allowed four hits and struck out six batters.
Johns and Vortman each drove in runs, but Brown County beat West Central 11-2, April 9, at Winchester.
Tucker Arnold singled in the first inning and scored when Johns doubled.
Johns and Bangert each singled in the fourth inning before Vortman singled and drove in Johns.
