The Jerseyville City Council approved the appointment of Nick Cain to the TIF Advisory Board at their regular council meeting on Tuesday, May 26.
Cain will be filling the unexpired term of Tony Heitzig, with a term to expire in April of 2027.
Mayor Kevin Stork said Cain attended a meeting last week to learn what it was all about and believes he’ll be a good asset to the board.
“He’s excited to join,” Mayor Stork said. “He’ll be a good asset with his knowledge of real estate.”
City council also approved three recommendations from the TIF Advisory Board at the May 26 meeting for different grant applications.
Two commercial roof grant applications submitted by Chris Lorton were approved. The first for 301 North State Street and the second for 700 South State Street.
The third was for a facade grant application from Samantha Stackpole for 105 North Washington Street.
In other business, council approved an ordinance amending city code pertaining to recyclable materials, defining what is recyclable at the city dump site, and approved bills in the amount of $280,380.42.
