We are finalizing the plans for our Summer Celebration and it’s going to be a fabulous time. We will be kicking off our festivities with the parade and we are proud to say our Grand Marshall is Virginia Becker. Virginia is such an active part of our community and gives so much of herself. I can’t think of a more fitting person.
Saturday morning Brianna Sibley, Cindy Klocke, Chris Hayn and myself sold raffle tickets at the gas station in Hardin for the Patriotic Quilt, made by Pat Gotway for the Summer Celebration and Meat raffle tickets for St. Anslem’s. We will draw for both things at the summer celebration. Anyone needing raffle tickets please let me know and we will get you taken care of. We’ve also been working on some amazing raffle baskets and prizes.
The Calhoun Swimming Pool has been pretty busy despite the cooler temperatures and rain days. It’s absolutely wonderful this past week two free swim days were observed. One was in Memory of Butch Lorsbach and the other Wade Gibson. The week before there was one in memory of Ida Capps. Given by their families, thank you so much. I personally know that all three of these people would be thrilled that the kids would get to enjoy a day at the pool. What a wonderful way to honor your loved one. This week they have three plans and the temperatures are supposed to be a warm perfect week to go to the pool.
Our neighbors in Pleasant Hill also have their pool up and going, Tina Jones and her crew would love to see you out there as well.
Our neighbors in Eldred found their Queen last week but ours was not found so make sure to get your tickets at the Legion.
Calhoun Entertainment Company held their theater camp production Saturday evening of an originally written show Scallywags: The Untold Story. It was so entertaining everybody loved it so much.
Congratulations to Tanner and Courtney St. Peters and big brother Jacob on the arrival of their new addition Hudson Jeffrey St. Peters arriving June 24 weighing 8 lbs and 20 in.
Happy 60th Birthday to Lonnie Clowers on July 28.
