Suspect turns himself in following burglary and possession charges

Charles “Joey” Mielke
On May 22, 2024, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a Burglary to a Residence, in the 100 block of Cass Ln., Hardin, Calhoun County, Illinois. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and began an investigation into the matter.
As a part of this investigation a search warrant was executed on a residence in the 400 block of West Main St., Hardin, Calhoun County, Illinois.
Subsequent to that investigation, Charles “Joey” Mielke, aged 42, of Hardin, IL, was arrested for the following offenses:
– Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine,
– Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance,
– Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia,
On August 6th 2024, the Calhoun County State’s Attorney’s Office issued a felony warrant for Charles “Joey” Mielke, aged 42, of Hardin, IL, for the following offense:
– Residential Burglary.
On August 7th 2024, Mielke was arrested for the following offenses:
– Felony No Bond Warrant (Pike County, Illinois),
– Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine.
Mielke was arrested without incident and transported to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office where he was processed. Mielke was subsequently released with a Notice to Appear at the Calhoun County Courthouse in Hardin, IL.
On August 28th 2024, Mielke turned himself in to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.
Mielke appeared in court on September 3rd 2024 and was granted Pre-Trial Release under the provisions of the new House Bill 3653, known as the SAFE-T Act.
All suspect(s) are innocent until proven guilty.
