PORTA/A-C Central scored three unearned runs and beat West Central 3-2 in baseball May 5 at Winchester.
West Central trailed 1-0 after PORTA/A-C Central scored in the second inning. They Cougars scored both of their runs in the fourth.
Landyn Woods singled, and Caden Meyer walked with one out. Both runners advanced with stolen bases. Tucker Arnold singled to drive in Woods. Anthony Hance hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Meyer.
PORTA/A-C Central tied the game with a run in the top of the fifth and scored the winning run in the seventh.
Dalton Hutton pitched the first six innings. He allowed two runs but no earned runs and two hits. Hutton struck out nine batters.
Anthony Hance pitched the seventh inning and suffered the loss despite not allowing an earned run. He struck out one.
Woods went 1-for-3, scored one run, scored one run and had a stolen base. Arnold went 1-for-3 and drove in one run.
Hutton went 1-for-3 with a double. Meyer scored one run and had a stolen base. Hance drove in one run.
