Shirley A. McDaniels | 71 | Carrollton

Shirley A. McDaniels, age 71 of Carrollton passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her boys. She was born July 18, 1953 in Carrollton, the daughter of Roy and Florence Patterson Griffith. She married Donald “Shorty” McDaniels July 31, 1971  and he preceded her in death Aug. 8, 2016.
She is survived by her three sons, Mike (Savannah) McDaniels of Brighton, Nathan (Elizabeth) McDaniels of Carrollton and Patrick McDaniels of Carrollton; four grandchildren, Skylar and Hunter McDaniels, Alyssa and Canyon Holder; a brother, Bob (Minette) Griffith of Godfrey;  a sister-in-law, Ginny Griffith, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Griffith; and two sisters, Margaret Hunt and Donna Harbaugh.
Shirley and her husband owned and operated McDaniels Auto Repair in Carrollton for many years. She also worked at Carlinville National Bank for many years. She enjoyed camping, cooking, fishing, and spending time with her family. She was a very active member of the Carrollton First Baptist Church and Awana.
The family hosted a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. on Friday. May 23, 2025 at Carrollton First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Carrollton City Cemetery at a later date.
