Paula Vosseller Vinyard, 89, of White Hall passed away Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, at White Hall Nursing Center with her daughters by her side.
She was born June 22, 1936, in St. Louis to Harold DeWitt and Frances Newberry Vosseller. She was born along with her twin sister, Betty. She married John Wesley Vinyard in 1955. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister.
Paula was a farm wife. She enjoyed looking for Native American artifacts, rocks, mushrooms, and loved many types of music. Opera and religious music were her favorites. She loved singing and had a beautiful voice, but she didn’t think so.
She was a member of New Life Church in White Hall, where she would work quietly behind the scenes to clean the church. She was compassionate and generous, helping people throughout her life, showing God’s love to all who knew her. She served the Lord quietly without seeking man’s praise.
She is survived by her daughters, Clara Ann (Annie Babe) Hunt (husband Tim), and Patricia (Patty Cake) Vinyard, and her grandchildren John Randall, Tiffany (husband Jeremy) Elliott, Kevin (wife Emilia Hurley) Pierce, Jackson Pierce, Brandon and Steven Hunt. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren Joshua and Logan Randall, Anna and Elijah Elliott, step-great-grandchildren Jordan Elliott and Jenah Elliott. Also surviving are her sister Betty’s children: nieces Mary Killian, Kate Vosseller, Becky Botts, Lynn Eldred, nephews Paul Fry and Jack Fry and their families. She was also preceded in death by her niece Lucy Lambie.
Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, Sept. 12, at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall, with the funeral service at 12 noon. Burial followed at White Hall Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to BJC Hospice or WHNRC Employees activity fund.
