Dickie Bill Davidson, age 65, of Carrollton, IL died Wednesday morning, Sept. 24, 2025, at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL.
He was born May 12, 1960, in Carrollton, IL, son of Paul and Barbara Jane Baumgartner Davidson.
He married Adri Willis on May 20, 1995, in Carrollton, IL and she survives.
Also surviving are his children, Misty Dawn Davidson (Aaron Miller) of Merritt, IL, Fred Davidson (Jackie Staats) of Carrollton, IL, and Shane Dierking (Peggy) of Jerseyville, IL; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Belinda (Dennis) Gress of Hardin, Rick (Rhonda) Davidson of Delhi, Danny (Ava) Davidson of Carrollton, Jerry (Linda) Davidson of Carrollton, Tammie (Dennis) Benton of Portland, OR, Pamela (David) Eisch of Green Bay, WI, David (Gary) Davidson of Glen Carbon and Marion (Becky) Davidson of Carrollton; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his mother and father; a son, Dickie Bill Davidson, Jr.; a granddaughter; sisters, Susan and Joy S. Davidson; and a brother, Tony Davidson.Dickie Bill was a diesel mechanic working for Illinois Valley Paving (UCM) for many years and was a member of International Order of Operating Engineers Local #965. He also was a member of the Carrollton United Methodist Church. He loved to golf and ride his Harley-Davidson. Dickie Bill loved to fish with all his family and enjoyed time spent with all of them. It’s Davidson family lore that George Thorogood met Dickie Bill and later wrote the song “Bad To The Bone.” The family will host a Celebration of Dickie Bill’s life at Carrollton United Methodist Church on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton, IL.
