Carrollton School Board members accepted the resignation of its President at the June 21 regular school board meeting.
School Board President Jeff Krumwiede, in an email dated June 1 to Carrollton Superintendent Jason Bauer, tendered his resignation from the board for “numerous reasons, which I will respectfully and professionally keep personal. Basically, at this time, for me, the negatives of being on the Board are outweighing the positives.”
Krumwiede said he is extremely proud of the accomplishments made in the district over the past three years he has served on the board.
“There is no doubt, the improvements we have made at CUSD 1 have made it a much better place for students and employees,” he said. “I have spent over 30 years serving this school district and community and will continue to do so in other ways.
“A special thank you to Mr. Bauer, who came here and gave us the tremendous leader we so desperately needed. His knowledge and wisdom, along with his honesty, integrity and professionalism are a blessing.”
Bauer said the district next step is to inform the Regional Office of Education of the resignation, which they have already done.
“We will post the vacancy for the open seat on our website on July 1,” Bauer said. “Then we will interview candidates and possibly have them seated by the August board meeting.”
Bauer was asked, since Krumwiede was President of the school board, how that office would be filled.
“Whenever you have a resignation, the vice-president becomes the acting president,” he said. “Then, they fill out the remainder of the term of president.”
Scott Bryant is the current vice-president and will fill out Krumwiede’s remaining term is president which is up in April 2027.
