As of this writing (Sunday evening, 7:10 p.m.), we’ve been having a lot of rain this evening. And yesterday we had 1 1/2 of rain. Other places around us had hail and lots of wind.

September is quickly passing by, and the weather has been very dry. The creeks are low and many farmers are watering their cows, and livestock. The weather forecast predicts rain this coming week. A welcome sight indeed.

Very unusual weather, in the mid 90’s Sunday through Thursday, then upper 80’s for the rest of week. Just can’t seem to get any rain here in this area, on Saturday West of Brussels and up through Meppen received a half inch. More predicted for the week so we might get some rain yet.

Is anyone out there enjoying this July like heat?! Woowee, man where’s that September feel? But whatever the day, the weather, we should be so thankful for it!!

Enjoy the Apple Festival this weekend! As a festival committee member myself, your support and participation are greatly appreciated. Sympathy is extended to the family of Harvey Bradshaw for his passing last week. Harvey was a friendly and familiar face in Griggsville and will be missed by many.
