West Central defeats Payson
By KENT COULTAS Three pitchers combined for a no-hitter as West Central beat Payson 12-2 in junior high baseball Aug. 13 at Bluffs. Payson led 1-0 before West Central (1-0) scored five runs in the fifth inning. They added seven more runs in the sixth inning.

The St. John’s Junior High Lady Redbirds blanked the St. Francis Lady Knights 15-0 in a game last week at Carrollton. Carrollton scored their 15th run in the middle of the third inning, and, due to the rules, the game was called after that.
