Charles Randall Boren, age 57, of Pittsfield, IL passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, MO. He was born on August 2, 1964 in Pittsfield, IL to Herman D. and Fern ‘Judy’ Hillman Boren. Randy married Lisa Logan Winters on September 13, 1986 in Quincy, IL and she survives.
Randy attended Pittsfield High School and graduated in 1983 and went on to attend Wichita Technical College. After graduating from technical school he began his career with Zimmerman’s and continued to work with them for over 30 years. The family moved to Massachusetts in 2014 and Randy became an auto body instructor at the Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical High School. Upon returning to Pittsfield he opened his own auto body shop, ‘Randy’s Collision & Color’. He was a member of Pittsfield Assembly of God and always put God first in his life and then his family. Randy loved his church and enjoyed working with the children’s programs along with helping with children’s church. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Cardinals and Fighting Illini fan. Randy liked to fish and loved racecars and NASCAR and Ford Mustangs. Randy was quite the movie buff and could quote lines from his favorite movies and television show, Seinfeld. Above all, he was a great dad and Papa; a true family man who loved to laugh and was kind to all.
Randy is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Boren; son, Noah Boren of Pittsfield, IL; daughters, Jenae (Jacob) Ajjarapu of Vernon Hills, IL, Hillary (Steven) Ionson of Liberty, IL and Delaney Boren of Quincy, IL; five grandchildren, Shea Ionson, Hunter Ionson, Zaiden Boren, Lennox Boren and Sadie Ionson; brother, Ron Boren of Pittsfield, IL; two aunts, Emma Knoth of Jacksonville, IL and Mildred Arseneau of Pittsfield, IL; father in law, Lavon ‘Sonny’ Logan; devoted step father in law, Joe Liston; in laws, Todd (Becky) Winters of O’Fallon, MO, Brandon (Lori) Eger of Mendon, IL, Jeannie (Ron) Clifton of Quincy, IL and Jolie Liston of Quincy, IL; and several nieces and nephews survive.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Boren; mother, Judy Boren; mother in law, Linda Liston; and sister in law, Laura Logan.
Cremation rites have been accorded and funeral service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Pittsfield Assembly of God with visitation prior to the service from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church. Due to COVID 19, we ask you to follow social distancing guidelines and masks are required by all attending. Graveside service and interment will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy, IL. Memorials are suggested to be made to the family.
