Both Pike County girls varsity basketball teams will participate in the 2021 Lady Hornet Classic,Nov. 20-27 in Brown County. Pool A will be Brown County, Liberty, Pleasant Hill/Western, Routt, West Prairie. Pool B will be Beardstown, Pittsfield, Rushville, Unity and West Hancock.
The tournament tips off Saturday, Nov. 20 with Routt and PH/WHS playing at 9 a.m. in the high school gym. Brown County will play West Prairie at 10:30. Beardstown and Pittsfield square off at noon and Rushville and West Hancock will play at 1:30.
PHHS/Western will be back on the floor at 3 p.m. facing Liberty and West Prairie will play Routt at 4:30. Pittsfield and Unity will play at 6, followed by Brown County and Liberty.
At the junior high, games also start at 9 and are West Hancock vs.Beardstown; at 10:30
Unity vs.Rushville at 10:30.
At noon, the junior varsity schedule starts in the junior high gym. Illini West vs. West Prairie; 1:30, Brown County vs. Beardstown; 3 p.m. Pittsfield vs. Illini West, 4:30, Unity vs. Rushville and at 6 Illini West vs. West Hancock.
Monday, Nov. 22_ 6 p.m. Beardstown vs. Unity and at 7:30, Brown County vs. Pleasant Hill/Western.
Tuesday, Nov. 23, 6 p.m. Liberty vs. West Prairie and at 7:30, Pittsfield vs Rushvile.
Wednesday, Nov. 24, at 6 p.m., Unity vs.West Hancock and 7:30 Brown County vs. Routt.
Friday, Nov. 26, 3 p.m. Pleasant HIll/Western vs. West Prairie; 4:30, Beardstown,vs. Rushivlle; 6 p.m. West Hancock vs. Pittsfield and 7:30, Routt vs. Liberty.
Nov. 27: Placement games start Saturday at noon, ninth place at noon, seventh place at 1:30, fifth place at 3:30, third place at 5 and the championship game is at 7 p.m.
