From the desk of Pastor David Slagle-217-473-1892
Beautiful first day of spring and a great drive time to church. It was good to be in the house of the Lord today along with members of the family of God. We welcome back several that have been absent for some time and heard praises of answered prayers. Our family welcomed our third great grandson into our lives this past wednesday afternoon. Jaxon Camron came into our lives weighing in at 6 lbs,15 ozs and 20 inches long. His 2 older brothers, Liam david and JC got to hold him and check him out. Liam David will be 4 years old next month and JC will be 2 years old next September, it is going to be interesting in their house for sure.
Our message this morning was from Matthew 27:1-10; John 12:1-8; Luke 22:3; Mark 3:14-19; Matthew 13:55; Romans 212:9; Philippians 4:7; John 14:27. We looked into the life of Judas Iscariot, a disciple of christ who was a thief, traitor, who suffered pain and terror. It is interesting that the name Judas is found in the webster’s new world dictionary as follows- Judas (Iscariot) the disciple who betrayed Jesus for money.
I invite you to read the scriptures given here and see the high cost of a traitor. Our recent prayer requests are for Farrell, Jody, and Travis; the Grace Benton family; Harold and Jane; Dorothy; Diane’s uncle received a new heart and all went well; mom is in the hospital at the present time.
We invite you to join us each Sunday morning for our worship service at 10:30 a.m.
