Nancy Jane Houseman | 87 | Waukesha, WI
Nancy Jane Houseman, 87, of Waukesha, WI and formerly of Roodhouse died Friday, April 22, 2022 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 85. She was born on March 15, 1937, in St. Louis, MO, the first child of Charles and Ruby Sheppard Lamburth. In July of 1944 she came to Roodhouse, IL to live with her uncle and aunt Clement and Kathleen Sheppard Yeager. Upon her eighth grade and high school graduation, she was awarded the American Legion Medal of Honor, she was also a cheerleader in Jr. High and High School.
After high school graduation, she attended nurses training in St. Louis. On Dec. 30, 1956 she married her long-time boyfriend, Jimmy Joe Houseman, at the Baptist Church in Roodhouse, and joined him in Rolla, MO. The next move was to Kokomo, IN before settling in Waukesha. They were married for 65 years.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Jimmy of Waukesha, Loving mother of Michel (Kris) Houseman of Phoenix, AZ and Andrea (Tod Day) Houseman of Eagle, WI. Nancy has also been blessed with two granddaughters, Katey and Sally, and her two cousins who considered her a sister, Margie (Denton) Coonrod of Winchester and Bonnie Wheeler of East Alton. She will be forever missed by family and friends.
A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2022 at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, in Waukesha. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am Saturday, May 21 at the Richwoods Cemetery east of Roodhouse. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon following interment, held at First Baptist Church in Winchester. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.airsman-hires.com
