The Pike County Sheriff’s Department made a second arrest last week for threatening a public official. The first arrest was in May. The incidents are not related and both occurred via social media.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Department and Pleasant Hill Police Department initiated a criminal investigation, June 14, after receiving information about a threat made against a public official via a social media platform.
July 2, at 3:27 p.m., the Pike County Sheriff’s Department arrested Keith E. Wright, 44, Pleasant Hill, on a Pike County, Illinois warrant for threatening a public official.
Keith was arrested without incident and transported to the Pike County Jail. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
Keith was also arrested on an Illinois Department of Corrections parole violation warrant.
