It was good to see more people here this morning. Sorry to say that our Pastor, Bro. Isaac had laryngitis, but we had a special treat today. Bro. Bill Smith, who had been our pastor for 50 years, brought the message. We were reminded of old times.
Special music: Bro. Everett Schofield wrote a song that was sung by the late Mike Reader. It was beautiful.
Message: Luke 23: 32-43
This passage paints a terrible scene. Jesus suffered great agony so we can be with him forever. The second man recognized the Son of God as he hung on the cross. He also recognized Jesus’ sinless life. We have all sinned, but Jesus lived a perfect life. He always did the will of His Father. He was dying on the cross and the thief beside him asked to be remembered. Jesus told the thief ‘this day you will be with me in paradise.’ Jesus died, was buried and on the third day He arose. Now He lives forevermore. He’s the one who stands at the door of our hearts and knocks and welcomes us all to come follow Him. This man lives within us as believers. He wants our service. He’s a savior and friend. Will you trust Him today?
