Chase Withrow had great night against Granite City, with four touchdowns and 238 yards.
The Jersey Panthers started the season off with a win at home against the Granite City Warriors last Friday, 35-0.
Chase Withrow led the Panthers on offense with four touchdowns, 238 yards and 29 attempts.
The Panthers secured a strong lead before halftime with Withrow scoring with 45 seconds left in the second quarter giving the Panthers a 21-0 lead at halftime.
“Chase had a heck of a game,” Head Coach Caleb Williams said. “We talked about running the ball hard all week and that’s exactly what he did. He just lined up and ran the ball harder and harder. He was a smart runner, he picked his holes. They did a great job blocking for him up front and he took advantage of it.”
Granite City came close to getting on the board in the final quarter, but fell short near the five yard line, allowing the Panthers the win, 35-0.
Walter Kosowski stood out on the defensive side with five tackles, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
“Getting the first win for the kids for the season is huge,” Coach Williams said. “Doing here at home is a big deal, and me being from here, it’s a big deal to me. The coaching staff did a great job tonight.”
The Panthers play at home again this Friday against Marion at 7 p.m.
